The Farm Team is responsible for the behind-the-scenes administration, visioning, and decision-making work that makes it possible for the farm to exist.
With the exception of the Farm Coordinator, Farm Team members volunteer their time. Farm Team tasks include monthly planning meetings in the off-season, collective decision-making about farm vision and structure, and supporting the Farm Coordinator with administrative tasks as needed. Our Farm Coordinator is paid to implement the farm vision across farm operations, carrying the mental load for the farm as a whole, delegating tasks to the Farm Team, and doing the often less-glamorous office work that makes all of our experience with Metanoia Farmers possible. |
FARM COORDINATOR:
Kay Drudge(they/them)
Kay has been farming with Metanoia since 2021. On the farm they love burying their nose into handfuls of spring soil, braiding onions, and eating cherry tomatoes directly off the vine. They also love thinking structurally, organizing people, and building new relationships as farm coordinator. Off the farm, they are pursuing their Master of Marriage and Family Therapy at University of Winnipeg.

FARM TEAM MEMBERS:
Megan Klassen-Wiebe(she/her)
Megan has been with the CMU Farm since its inception. She first became interested in food justice and small scale farming while working on her 3-year degree at CMU. She finished this degree with a practicum on a small farm in New Brunswick that solidified her passion for food and farming and came back to Manitoba looking for a place to engage this passion. The CMU Farm and another bachelor degree (this time in Agro-ecology at the University of Manitoba) engaged that passion and have furthered her knowledge and understanding of sustainable food systems. Megan is a fledgling seed saver and is passionate about food, farming, land, and faith and loves that all these things come together at the CMU Farm.

Marika Veith(she/her)
Marika is a long-time friend of the Metanoia Farmers. She grew up in a big city, but always dreamed of being a farmer and an artist. In her 9-5, Marika enjoys supporting older adults and their families through the process of aging. Her real full-time job is staying silly and making art out of her everyday life: cooking, gardening, cycling, running, mending and creating.

Trey Dornn(he/him)
trey has been farming with metanoia since 2022. he went bungee jumping once, it was scary and kinda awesome. he has a little skeleton inside of him talking to him at all times. but it doesn’t speak english, just an unidentified creaky language of sorts. most of all, trey is very nice 👍.

Katheryn Loewen(she/her)
Katheryn is a friend of the farm-turned-farmer. After trying her hand at being a music therapist, wrenching bikes, and working at environmental non-profits, she started farming with The Dogs Run Farm in southwestern Manitoba in 2023. She continues to assist in managing their pastured livestock operation, and in the off-season coordinates a business mentorship program through Young Agrarians for other new farmers in the prairies. Don’t ask her how to grow a carrot, she has no idea.

Bryn Friesen Epp(they/them)
Starting with Metanoia in 2020, the Farm has been a central part of Bryn's life ever since. In addition to their love for all the growth on the farm, they are a large part of the vision and labour behind the larger infrastructure on the farm. Equally content with a hoe, tape measure, or hen in hand, the Farm has always been an intersection of many of Bryn's passions and hobbies.
